It is a lot of fun and your family will consider you the Disney expert for knowing about this Hidden Disney World Secret. This is an area that you will not find in your Disney World park map. It is one of the special extras that is placed there for you to discover on your own.
Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party At The Magic Kingdom
One of the new attractions during this year of "What Will You Celebrate?" at the Walt Disney World Resort is the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party at the Magic Kingdom.
This high energy parade starts with 4 floats decorated like giant packages moving into position in front of Cinderella's Castle. Along with the floats come stilt-walkers and other performers dancing in the street.
Once positioned in front of the castle the packages burst open and the Genie from "Aladdin", Lumiere from "Beauty and the Beast", Sebastian from "The Little Mermaid", and the Mad Hatter from "Alice in Wonderland" appear on top of the 4 floats.
After the packages are opened then the party really gets going. Lively music plays and the performers lead the floats down Main Street as the park guests are encouraged to Dance along.
In addition to the 4 package floats there is an additional one that has Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Minnie Mouse. All are dressed up for the party and dance to the music.
The float with the Mad Hatter leads the way carrying Chip and Dale, those fun loving Chipmunks of Disney fame.
Riding with the Genie was Frozone from "The Incredibles" movie.
Sebastian was joined by Baloo and King Louie from the 1967 animated classic "The Jungle Book."
Bringing up the rear of the parade was the float with Lumiere accompanied by Woody and Jessie from "Toy Story 2."

Here is the Disney World Press Release marking the event:
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Nov. 24, 2009 - For the 10th year in a row, Victoria & Albert's restaurant at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has been awarded the AAA Five Diamond Award. As one of only 52 restaurants to receive this symbol of excellence in North America, Mexico and the Caribbean, Victoria & Albert’s delivers “haute cuisine” with seven-course prix-fixed menus, wine pairings and the finest ingredients from the world market.
At the helm of this critically-acclaimed restaurant is 15-year Victoria & Albert’s veteran, Chef de Cuisine Scott Hunnel.
“It takes every individual on the team to achieve such a great honor consistently, from the reservationists to the wait staff and culinary team,” remarked Hunnel about reaching this prestigious milestone. “The secret to our success is realizing that it’s a continuous journey of reinvention in the restaurant and what we’re doing today has to be better tomorrow.”
Only 0.27 percent of AAA's 60,000 Diamond Rated lodgings and restaurants in North America received this honor for 2010. According to AAA's ratings guidelines, to achieve Five Diamond status, restaurants must "consistently provide a world-class experience.”
The culinary team’s impeccable artistry and unique recipes, combined with an expert service staff and maître d’, is what exceeds guest expectations daily in an effortless and unobtrusive manner.
“Our guests expect more and that’s why we travel extensively to keep our minds open to develop new and exciting delicacies,” said Chef Scott. “Over the years, we’ve visited other highly ranked restaurants in Paris, New York and Barcelona to get a perspective on what the competition is doing and to keep bringing the freshest and most original ideas home to our guests only the way Disney can.”
To keep up the world-class culinary standards, the team at Victoria & Albert’s inspect every detail of the presentation and are totally immersed in the delivery of the operation. Under Chef Scott’s direction, the focus for 2010 is on taking the restaurant to the next level and in pleasing guests with new and exciting gastronomic surprises.

Planning Your Disney World Christmas Vacation
Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort at Christmas time can be one of the most magical and memorable vacations you have ever taken. There are all of the normal Disney World attractions, plus all of the Christmas decorations, special events, and lots and lots of people like you trying to enjoy their own magical vacation.
In order to make sure that your Disney World Vacation memories are positive ones a little planning can go a long way.
Here are the top planning tips for your Christmas vacation at Disney World:
1. Make your Dining Reservations Ahead of Time! – This cannot be stressed enough. During busy seasons it is important to make reservations for meals that you would like to eat at sit-down restaurants before you get to Disney World.
Although it may sound crazy to make dinner reservations days, weeks, or even months ahead of time, it is much worse to spend your vacation time going from restaurant to restaurant only to be turned away because they are full. Remove the stress and make the reservations now. You can either make the reservations by phone (407) WDW-DINE or on-line.
If you are unfamiliar with the Disney Restaurants you can check out the official Disney World menus, or you can visit AllEars.net which has menus for not just the sit down restaurants, but also the counter service restaurants as well.
I would recommend not having more than one meal each day scheduled at a sit down restaurant. Although they are wonderful, making too many reservations limits your flexibility and can tie up your day.
2. Make a tentative schedule for which park to visit each day. This may be partially decided by where you get Dining Reservations each day. Since Dining Reservations can sometimes be difficult to come by, that is why it is the first step. If you do not have Dining reservations in one of the 4 Disney Theme parks, you should look at the park hours and Extra Magic Hours list to help you make your choice.
As a rule of thumb people flock to the park that has Extra Magic Hours for that day. If you do not have the Park Hopper option on your tickets, I would recommend that you avoid the parks with Extra Magic Hours, especially during this very busy holiday season.
They all will be crowded, but these may be a little less crowded.
Here is a link to the Disney World Park Hours.
3. Plan on getting to the parks at opening. This is sometimes difficult when you are on vacation, but it goes a long way towards keeping your stress level down.
After the initial surge of people that enter the park when it opens, there is a lull for the next hour or two. These first two hours that the park is open is your best opportunity to ride the most popular attractions. Once you get towards the middle of the day, the parks will be extremely full and lines will be long. By riding the most popular attractions during this low crowd time, you will be free to enjoy the other attractions while the crowds wait in line at the ones you have already been on.
4. Use the Disney World FastPass system. This is a free perk and you should take full advantage of it. Plan on getting FastPasses for the most popular attractions to avoid standing in line over 20 minutes. Do something more useful with your time instead of waiting in line. Your day will be much more enjoyable. Here is more information about FastPasses if you are not familiar with how they work: FastPass Details
5. Take middle of the day breaks. Don’t be afraid to leave the parks during the middle of the day to get away from the crowds. This is a great time to take young children back to the room to get a nap, or to explore the various Disney World resorts to check out the fantastic Christmas Decorations.
There are over 700 decorated Christmas trees at the Walt Disney World Resort during the Christmas season. Most of them have interesting or unique decorations. I would highly recommend visiting all of the Deluxe Resorts (Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Boardwalk Villas, Yacht Club, & Beach Club) to check out their decorations.
While visiting the resorts you can also grab a leisurely lunch away from the crowds at the parks.
Characters In Flight Seen From Epcot
Characters In Fight is one of the newest attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort. It is based at Downtown Disney, but was recently spotted from Epcot.
The Characters In Flight Balloon is 72 feet in diameter and is the world's largest tethered gas filled ballon.
It was built by Aérophile S.A, headquartered in Paris, France. It was made to be similar to an attraction created for Disneyland Paris.
Ticket Prices:
•$16 Adult (tax included) - Guests ages 10 and up
•$10 Children (tax included) - Guests ages 3 - 9
•Guests under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
•Gondola is wheelchair accessible with assistance. Guests must transfer from an Electric Convenience Vehicle (ECV).
See and Be Seen
The Characters In Flight balloon has a circumference of 240 feet, and a height of 105 feet, making it easy to spot from Epcot as we did in the earlier photos.
For those that are not afraid of heights this would be a great addition to your Disney World vacation, and a chance to see Disney World from a whole new perspective.

Few Dining Options Remain For Thanksgiving Day At Disney World
If you are planning on being at Disney World this Thanksgiving, hopefully you have already made your dining reservations, because few options remain available.
Thanksgiving is one of the most popular holidays to spend at the Walt Disney World Resort. As the week gets closer to Thursday the crowds will get larger and larger.
Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, is one day that most people staying at Disney World choose to eat at one of the table service restaurants. This brings most restaurants full to capacity with no openings available to those who did not make reservations ahead of time.
If you haven't made reservations yet, don't fear, there are still a few options left. Don't count on a traditional turkey dinner though at the remaining restaurants.
After searching for openings for a typical party of 4, there were no openings available for Thursday from 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm in Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom. There were a few openings at a couple of the Epcot restaurants. We found openings for: San Angel (Mexico), Restaurant Marrakesh (Morocco), Tokyo Dining (Japan), and Nine Dragons (China).
In Downtown Disney there were also several options available, especially closer to noon. The House of Blues had the most available times, but there were also some openings at: Portobello and Captain Jack's.
The Boardwalk area restaurants were full, and there were next to no openings in the resort restaurants either.
If you haven't made reservations yet, I would highly recommend making reservations before Thursday if you would like to eat at a Table service restaurant. Call (407) 939-DINE or use the on-line reservation system.
Disney World is a great place to spend your Thanksgiving. Enjoy all the magic that Disney World has to offer and the special Christmas decorations that are all over the resort. Expect the parks to be crowded and don't let it stress you out. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Take A Sleigh Ride This Christmas Season At Disney World
This Christmas season Disney World has added the opportunity to take a sleigh ride through the 700 acre backwoods of the Ft. Wilderness Resort.
The sleigh ride will be a 25-minute horse drawn journey through the scenic woodland paths.
Since snow is not very likely in central Florida, Disney has modified their sleigh to have wheels instead of the traditional runners. It will be drawn by a horse from Disney World's Tri-Circle D Ranch based at Ft. Wilderness. It is painted fire-engine red and will be decked out in Christmas lights and garland for the Holidays.
The sleigh is sized to hold up to 4 adults or 2 adults and up to 3 children. Each sleigh ride will cost $60 total whether it is a romantic trip for two or your family of up to 5.
You will board the sleigh at the Blacksmith's Shop near the Settlement area of Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground. You can either drive to Ft. Wilderness or take Disney World transportation to get there. Once you have arrived at Ft. Wilderness, you can take the internal shuttles to get to the Settlement area.
The sleigh rides are only available for a limited time during the Christmas Season, running from November 29th through December 30th. You can make reservations by calling (407) WDW-PLAY.

Disney World Christmas Trees Show Off Unique Decorations
Christmas is a wonderful time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. The decorations that the Disney Cast Members set up each year are amazing.
Did you know that each year there are 737 decorated Christmas trees at the Walt Disney World Resort?
Today two of the more unique trees are featured.
Toys On The Tree
The first was set up in Downtown Disney outside of the Once Upon A Toy store. Taking the toy theme and running with it, this tree is decorated with giant versions of classic children's games and toys. This may be one of the few times that you will see the toys on the tree instead of under it!
You can see: Mr. Potato Head, the barrel of monkeys, Scrabble pieces, PlayDoh, Light Brite, dump trucks, and much more.
This tree certainly evokes toy store and memories of the classic toys from my childhood.
Capturing the Spirit of the Animal Kingdom
Maybe the best done tree in all of Disney World is the giant one at the entrance to the Animal Kingdom theme park.
Disney has found a great way to combine Christmas season with the spirit of the Animal Kingdom. This tree is filled with Animal carvings and masks. It fits the feel and look of the Animal Kingdom. Even the non-animal decorations blend well with the African theme of the tree. It is simple yet beautiful.
Decorated For Christmas
If you are able to visit Disney World this Christmas Holiday Season, take the time to notice the decorations that adorn the remarkable trees that you will see. Each one is unique and most have special decorations that tie them specifically to the location that they are found.
The staff at Disney World has done a great job making the extra effort to make each tree special. Although the trees don't get the same recognition as the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the Candlelight Processional, or the Osborne Family Spectacle Of Dancing Lights, they certainly make a large contribution to the Christmas experience at Disney World.
Although there are a lot of decorations (150 tractor-trailer truckloads that are used each year), it is the attention to detail and special touches that make these trees and a Disney World Christmas vacation memorable.

Mulch, Sweat, n' Shears Is Disney World's Mobile Rock Band
Rock n' Roll can be found on the "Streets of America" in Disney's Hollywood Studios driving a yellow landscaping truck.
Mulch, Sweat, n' Shears is the creative name for a great rock band that is hidden under the guise of a group of landscapers looking to hit it big and land a record deal.
The landscaping gimmick gets your attention, but it is their top notch musical talent that will have you sticking around to hear their complete set.
Mulch, Sweat, n' Shears specializes in classic rock, playing such great cover tunes as: "Start Me Up", "Life In The Fastline", "Walk This Way", & "Honky Tonk Woman". The band lists these true classic rock icons as their influences: Led Zeppelin, Queen, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Jet, Aerosmith, Steppenwolf, Jimmy Eat World, Jimi Hendrix, KISS, & Van Halen.
The talented artists who make up Mulch, Sweat, n' Shears are:
- CC Dixon - Bass, Vocals
- Angelo Jannotti - Guitar, Vocals

In addition to their musical talents they put together a great live act that gets the audience involved whether it would be to play a cow bell along to "Honky Tonk Woman" or showing off their air guitar talents up front with the band. The show is fun!

"Los Lawn Boys" is a Rock n' Roll juggernaut. Their blend of comic timing with intense and distinctive musical artistry will ROCK YOUR FACE OFF.
The British Invasion Brings The Music Of The Beatles To Epcot
If you are strolling through Epcot’s World Showcase and you happen to hear some great Beatles’ song playing, most likely it is the British Invasion that you are hearing.
The British Invasion is an Epcot staple playing in their own gazebo tucked away in the Great Britain Pavilion behind the gardens.
They not only do a great job covering the classic Beatles tunes, but they look the part as well, with great costumes and hair styles to match those of the Beatles from the 60’s.
They perform at Epcot 5 days a week (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, & Saturday) with five, 20 minute sets per day (currently: 3:00, 4:30, 6:00, 7:00 & 8:00pm).
For each set that they perform, they do a costume change and a different selection of songs. So if you happen to catch them during multiple performances during an evening you will see all different songs performed.
The costumes are great, from the basic black suits, to the Nehru jackets, to the Sgt. Peppers Heart Club Band outfits. They definitely evoke the images of the Beatles as well as the sound.
They will on occasion also sing songs from other British Invasion era acts, and during a recent visit I saw a complete set made up of non-Beatles songs including Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl” that sounded great.
If you enjoy the Beatles then you will definitely have a great time watching The British Invasion. They are truly a top notch Beatles cover band, and should be on your list of Epcot attractions to see.

Mo 'Rockin Rocks Epcot
Mo'Rockin is a six piece group which blends rhythms from around the globe—including Middle Eastern, African, Spanish and American—and performing it all on traditional and modern instuments. You can find Mo 'Rockin in the Moroccan pavilion at Epcot during your next visit to Disney World.
Mo 'Rockin is comprised of:
AMIR ALI - Lead Singer violinist, oud player and Band leader
ILHAM - Backup vocalist and Oriental Dance
DAVE LOWREY - Bass Guitar
RENE ZAYAS - Keys and backup vocals
ABDELILAH TAHOUR - Darbouka backup vocals
MATHEW ANTOLICK - Zendrum
The Band's Founder and Leader - Amir Ali
Amir Ali founded Mo 'Rockin in (1998), and has been performing at Epcot's Moroccan pavilion for eighteen years.
At age seventeen, Ali came to the United States where he studied jazz, funk, American pop, blues, R & B and hip hop. He has recorded with numerous major record labels and toured with such famous musicians as Abboud Abdel Al, Haj Younes, Amad Doughane, and many more.
Not Your Ordinary Rock Band
Mo 'Rockin plays its own original music during its 20 minute sets that it plays at Disney World. The varied sounds and influences really make this a true World Music feel.
Besides their style of music the instruments that they play are not what you would typically see in a "rock band". Although you may see an occasional violin, how often would you see an Oud or a Zendrum?
The Oud is an instrument that has its roots going back 4500 years and is very popular in Arabic countries even today.
The The Zendrum is a MIDI (Musical Instrument DigitalInterface) triggering controller designed by drummers to allow musicians to express their creativity in rhythmic and intuitive ways. However, the Zendrum can trigger ANY sound via MIDI, so it is much more than drums yet as easy to play as tapping your desk with your fingers. Unlike a keyboard, there are no moving parts to break or wear out.

If you love Mo 'Rockin you may want to check out their CD entitled "One World".
Mo 'Rockin
They are a Disney World and an Epcot World Showcase staple entertaining and exposing people to musical influences that they may not be familiar with, but find themselves liking.
Who doesn't like a band that has their own belly dancer?
If you are not familiar with Mo 'Rockin certainly check them out during your next visit to Epcot. Their performances are free with your Epcot admission. You will be entertained and you may find yourself enjoying a type of music you have never heard before.

Disney World's Favorite Mountain - Space Mountain Will Soon Be Better Than Ever
The many months of refurbishment for Space Mountain are almost over. As any Disney World fan knows Space Mountain is the king of the fabled Disney Mountains and the Magic Kingdom hasn't been the same since it shut down for an extensive refurbishment.
The official Disney Blog shared some glimpes of what the "new" Space Mountain will look like inside and how things are changed.
The first picture is a look at how the line queue looks when you are in the final waiting stage, just before you board the roller coaster. The lighting looks incredible.
One of the key changes is how you will wait in line. They are adding interactive games to help you pass the time and get more out of the "Space Mountain Experience".
Here is what they said at the official Disney Blog:
These improvements, along with a new track (same path just replaced the old track) are finishing up and Space Mountain is scheduled to fully re-open on November 21st.
Conclusion - Can't Wait!
I am really looking forward to being able to check out the new and improved Space Mountain during my next visit. It sounds like the classic attraction is intact with additional features, like the interactive games in the queue, that should make the experience better than ever.

Passengers will be able to immerse themselves in unique game play as they prepare for blast off, becoming part of the space station adventure. During a recent walkthrough, we deflected asteroids to keep runways clear as part of the story.
The interactive experiences are based on duties you’d find on board a long-traveling space craft, according to Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Show Designer Alex Wright. Each game lasts about 90 seconds with a 90-second interval and the games can accommodate 86 players at one time.
As you move along on your journey, there are “insider” touches typical in projects created by Imagineers. For example, if you’re up on your Disney trivia, you’ll recognize a sign bearing the logo “H-NCH 1975″ as a tribute to late Imagineer and Disney legend John Hench. There are also other “Disneyphile” references hidden throughout the attraction.
Space Mountain celebrates the Golden Age of Rocket Travel – inspired by the jet age of the early 1960s. The attraction highlights excitement around the endless possibilities regarding space travel. It did back when it opened in 1975 and I think you’ll agree it still does.

Festival Of The Masters Returns To Disney World Nov. 13 - 15th
It is the 34th rendition of the Festival of the Masters presented by Sharpie®. The Festival of the Masters is a complimentary open-air art festival featuring nearly 150 award-winning artists.
Since its start at Disney World in 1975, millions of guests have enjoyed this world-renowned event. This art festival with the Disney touches has become an anticipated event for both the art lovers, as well as, the artists themselves.
Festival History
The Festival of the Masters ranks amongst the nation's top outdoor art festivals.
The Festival truly seeks out the Masters when it comes to artistic talent. To be included in the festival an artist must have earned a primary award at a juried art festival within the last 4 years. So all of the artists that you will see are truly award winning artists. It has also become a very desirable festival for the artists to be able to display their talents.
Festival Highlights
Besides being able to see some of the country's best artistic talent there are a host of activities going on in the Downtown Disney Area during the festival.
House of Blues Folk Art Festival — Delight in the 11th annual "Where the Art Meets the Soul" festival, featuring local and national folk artists, great music and captivating children's activities.
Central Florida Chalk Artists Association — Watch as more than 6,000 square feet of sidewalk at the Downtown Disney Marketplace are transformed into a giant canvas for talented chalk artists to showcase their masterpieces. And kids can create their own works of chalk art in a special area just for them!
Family Activities — Treat your family the world of art as they're taught by experts how to draw some of their favorite Disney characters outside DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive theme park. Families can take part in other art-related activities throughout the Downtown Disney area, and kids can boogie at a special DJ Dance Party at the Dock Stage every afternoon.
Meet the performers from Cirque du Soleil® La Nouba™ and enjoy face painting and balloons outside Cirque du Soleil®.
Additional Live Entertainment — Keep your groove going all weekend with live performances throughout the Downtown Disney area.
