Best Disney Dining Plan Snacks

If you have ever used one of the Disney Dining Plan options during your Disney World Vacation, one of the challenges is to figure out what is the best use of your snack credits.

While at first glance the snack credits appear to be a minor feature of the Disney Dining Plan they are quite useful and the quest to find the best snacks that you can get with the Disney Dining Plan can be a lot of fun.

Best Iconic Disney World Snacks
There are some snacks that define being at Disney World.  They are considered part of the experience.  The fact that you can get them with a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit is that much better.

Top Iconic Disney World Snacks
1. Dole Whip or Dole Whip Float (pictured)
2. Mickey Ice Cream Bar
3. Popcorn (Especially on Main St.in Magic Kingdom)
4. School Bread from the Kringla Bakeri og Kafe in Epcot Norway
5. Zebra Domes from Boma and also at Mara in Animal Kingdom Lodge
Starting with the Dole Whip, these are the famous food items that people crave or even dream about when they are away from Disney World and plan their time at Disney World to include getting these treats.  They are sought out as much as any attraction.

On a short list behind the Dole Whip you will find the people that are more traditional in nature and crave the Mickey Head Ice Cream bar or those that wax nostalgic for some popcorn to enjoy on Main St.

Newer to this list of Iconic treats are the special School Bread that can be found in the Norway Pavilion of Epcot and the ever popular dessert from Boma, the Zebra Domes (pictured above), that can be had for a mere snack credit at the Mara in the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Best Disney World Snacks For Breakfast
To get maximum value out of your Disney Dining Plan, you want to avoid having to spend additional money for food during your vacation.  By using your snack credits to obtain breakfast items, you can achieve that goal.

At each of the resorts, and at several locations within each of the theme parks are items that are great for breakfast.

Top Breakfast Snack Items:
1. Warm Cinnamon Rolls from Main St. Bakery in Magic Kingdom
2. Yogurt Parfait
2. Cheese Danish and other assorted Danishes.
3. Blueberry Muffins and other assorted muffins.
4. Fresh Fuit Bowls.

All of these items can be had with one snack credit.  The giant, warm, gooey cinnamon rolls are an incredible treat and a great way to start your day.  My personal favorite from a recent trip was the Yogurt Parfait with fruit and granola.  My kids love the Cheese Danishes and they are quite good.

Best Disney World Snacks For Lunch Items
The toughest category to use snack items for are for lunch.  The items on this list could be used as lunch or used to combine with a lunch in order to feed two people with one snack and one lunch.  This allows you to save quick service credits to use for a breakfast during your vacation.

Top Lunch Snack Items
1. Pork Egg Rolls at Yak & Yeti Quick Service in Animal Kingdom
2. Chicken Fried Rice at Yak & Yeti Quick Service in Animal Kingdom
3. Mixed Greens Salad at Catalina Eddie's, Toy Story Pizza Planet, & Rosie's in Hollywood Studios
4. Soup at Rosie's All American Cafe in Hollywood Studios

You certainly have to look harder to find these items, but they are out there.  We located several items at the Yak & Yeti Quick Service location in the Animal Kingdom and several places offered the Mixed Green Salad as a snack item in Hollywood Studios.  We also saw French fries and cheese stuffed giant preztels available as snacks in several locations.

Best Disney World Snacks For Treats or Desserts
These are the treats that people talk about!  The extra dessert that you couldn't believe you were able to obtain with just one tiny snack credit.  They range from massive artistic cupcakes, tasty cheesecakes, ice cream sundaes, smoothies, hand twisted giant pretzels, cinnomon-glazed pecans, chocolate crepes, and an amazing array of baked goods.

Top Disney World Snacks For Desserts
1. Butterfinger Cupcake at Starring Rolls Cafe
2. Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich at Main St. Bakery
3. Napoleon from  Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot
4. Any Dessert ( Butterfinger Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie) From Sunshine Seasons in Epcot
The treats at these 4 bakeries in the Walt Disney Parks:  Starring Rolls Cafe in Hollywood Studios, Main St. Bakery in the Magic Kingdom, and Sunshine Seasons(pictured above) & Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot have unbelievable treats that are all amazingly available for one Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit each!

Fortunately during a recent trip my family was able to sample several items from each location during our vacation.  The Starring Rolls Cafe and Sunshine Seasons were probably our favorite for their amazing selection of choices that were available.  You couldn't go wrong with your selection.

Great Snacks To Be Had At Disney World!
Whether you agree with the Snacks I have mentioned here or you have other personal favorites, you have to agree that there are a multitude of excellent choices that can be obtained with your Disney Dining Plan Snack credits.

Although I am upset that a couple of my old favorites, like the Dino-Bite Snacks version of the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich, are no longer offered for snack credits, I believe I have found many worthy substitutes to take their places.

Please feel free to comment with your favorite Disney Dining Plan snack!

Thanks for this! Snacks are always one of the things we have the hardest time with (as far as knowing our options). It always helps to get an idea of what we can choose from ahead of time.

Hello! We're looking for good snacks we can use in lieu of meals in Magic Kingdom. Do you know of any places we can get salad or something more substantial in Magic Kingdom for a snack credit? Please let me know!

Thank you! Thank you! I haven't found anyone yet who has given so much detail to what you get with the dining plan. I'm so excited. I have a nostalgic craving for churro a from disney. I do realize that those are not as exclusive as the dole whip and Mickey ice cream. So excited I found this.
