Taste Of Epcot Food & Wine Festival: Swedish Meatballs With Lingonberries
The Walt Disney World Resort celebrates each year with the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival bringing hundreds of tastes of food, wine, & beer to enjoy. The 2011 version of the Festival is currently running through November 13th and there is still time to visit. In order to help you choose what to try, Only WDWorld has been reviewing a wide variety of the tastes that are available.
Scandinavia: Swedish Meatballs With Lingonberries
One of the foods that comes to mind when people think of Scandinavia and Sweden in particular are the meatballs. At the Scandinavia Marketplace kiosk we had to try the Swedish Meatballs with Lingonberries. This dish was very tasty and fared well when compared to other that we tried at the Festival. This is truly comfort food and those less adventurous food eaters will enjoy this dish. There are no exotic spices or sauces, just a good example of Swedish Meatballs. The Lingonberries which are very popular in Sweden went well with the Meatballs and added extra flavor (and color) to the dish.

Taste Of Epcot Food & Wine Festival: Seared Filet Of Beef With Smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braii Sauce
The 2011 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival brings tastes representing 6 continents to the Walt Disney World Resort now through November 13th. Each year people flock to Epcot to enjoy this annual Disney World Special Event. Only WDWorld is reviewing a number of the dishes from this year's festival to help you choose which items to try.
South Africa: Seared Filet Of Beef With Smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braii Sauce
This dish has been one of our favorites at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival for the past several years so we looked forward to enjoying it again this year. The dish, priced at $5.00 per serving and pictured above, did not photograph well due to the excessive amount of sauce. This same South African Barbeque Sauce, aka Braii Sauce, unfortunately overwhelmed the Filet of Beef instead of accentuating it.
It was still enjoyable, but the extra sauce kept this from being a favorite at this year's festival. Hopefully this was not repeated for all the visitors to the South Africa Marketplace kiosk.

The Seared Filet Of Beef With Smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braii Sauce has been such an overwhelming favorite during past Epcot International Food & Wine Festival that our okay dish with excessive sauce could not deter us from continuing to recommending it. The Beef and Sweet potatoes make an excellent combination.

Taste Of Epcot Food & Wine Festival: Black Pepper Shrimp With Sichuan Noodles
The 2011 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at the Walt Disney World Resort is filled with a multitude of international flavors to explore through November 13. Only WDWorld is trying to help you narrow down your choices by reviewing a wide variety of the culinary samples. Today we travel to the China Marketplace kiosk to sample the Black Pepper Shrimp With Sichuan Noodles.
China: Black Pepper Shrimp With Sichuan Noodles
With 27 different Marketplace kiosks and over 100 different items to try we were tempted to skip the China kiosk, feeling that we were already familiar with Chinese food, but we are glad that we didn't. The Black Pepper Shrimp With Sichuan Noodles was one of the better food items that we tried at the Festival.
Our portion came with four good sized shrimps along with a reasonably sized portion of the Sichuan Noodles, making it one of the larger portions we obtained at the Festival. Besides the quantity, the food tasted very good as well. It was different than what we would normally obtain at our local Chinese Food Take-out place, which made it more enjoyable. This was definitely a dish worth trying.

Although there is a world of tastes to explore, literally, at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, the Black Pepper Shrimp With Sichuan Noodles is one that should be on your list to try. This was a tasty dish that was not reminiscent of typical Chinese take-out. Only WDWorld would definitely recommend it!

Germany: Nüernberger Sausage In A Pretzel Roll
The Germany Marketplace kiosk features a Nüernberger Sausage In A Pretzel Roll. This authentic sausage tastes even better in a tasty Pretzel Roll with a some good mustard for dipping.
The Nüernberger Sausage may be Germany's most popular type of sausage. This type of pork based bratwurst has origins that date back to the year 1313.
While you are enjoying the Nüernberger Sausage, you may want to pair it with one of the great German Beers. I would recommend the Altenmünster Dunkel Bier pictured above.
Recommended!
Enjoy a traditional German Nüernberger Sausage in a Pretzel Roll, with or without the German Beer. This sausage and the pretzel roll tastes great and it certainly is authentic German Food. We definitely recommend it during your visit to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

Taste Of Epcot Food & Wine Festival: Belgian Waffle With Berry Compote and Whipped Cream
The 2011 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is in full swing from now until November 13. To tempt your taste buds we will be sharing some of the "Tastes" of the Festival from the 27 International Marketplace kiosks.
Today's tempting food item come from the Belgium kiosk. It is the one that caused a stir last year during its introduction to the Epcot Food & Wine Festival: Belgian Waffle With Berry Compote And Whipped Cream.
How does such a simple looking dessert cause such a stir? This is a mystery that you have to solve through tasting it! This combination of the freshly made waffle with the berry compote and accented with the whipped cream is amazing. This is not your normal breakfast waffle. I am not sure if they add special ingredients to the waffle batter or it is just the combination of the items served while the waffle, but this is a very tasty treat and deserving of the long lines that it can generate at the Festival. Your best bet is to try it in the middle of the afternoon before the long evening lines start to build up.

Taste Of Epcot Food & Wine Festival: Coq au Vin sur Gratin de Macaroni
The 2011 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is in full swing from now until November 13. To tempt your taste buds we will be sharing some of the "Tastes" of the Festival from the 27 International Marketplace kiosks.
Today's featured dish is the Coq au Vin sur Gratin de Macaroni from the France kiosk. For those of you that do not speak French or familiar with French Cuisine, this is a red wine braised chicken with mushrooms & pearl onions that is accompanied by macaroni & cheese.
The French name for this dish best suits it, since this is much better than chicken with macaroni & cheese. For a $4.95 portion you get a good sized taste that was very enjoyable. The button mushrooms really added to the overall flavor and the red wine sauce was excellent. The macaroni & cheese was also very good and will not be confused with the kind that comes in a box for kids.
