1. Be Our Guest Restaurant
The newest Quick Service Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom tops our list, but the Be Our Guest Restaurant is unique for a number of reasons. First of all, it is the only restaurant at the Magic Kingdom that is a Quick Service Restaurant at lunch time, but becomes a Table Service Restaurant at Dinner. The cuisine is french inspired to follow the theme of the Beauty and the Beast movie and the theming within the restaurant itself is nothing short of amazing! It is worth it to dine here just to check out the incredible 3 different dining rooms in the restaurant. Don't worry, the food is superb here as well. Disney World Dining: Columbia Harbour House
If you are looking for lunch or dinner in the Magic Kingdom and are not in the mood for a burger you may want to try this often overlooked restaurant that we consider a Disney World Hidden Secret.
Columbia Harbour House
Nestled deep within the Magic Kingdom straddling Fantasyland and Liberty Square Columbia Harbour House provides one of the best Disney Quick Service Dining options without the fanfare or the crowds. The main entrance can be found along the Liberty Square portion of the building opposite the entrance to the Haunted Mansion. Once inside, you will discover that this restaurant is surprisingly large.
Disney World Secret Tip: Try the upstairs seating, It is typically not very crowded and can provide a nice break on a busy day in the Magic Kingdom.
The menu is provides several different Seafood options, as well as, vegetarian, and chicken. One of the signature items is the fried shrimp platter with fries and cole slaw (pictured above.) Another favorite is the Lobster Roll.
A personal favorite is the Grilled Salmon with couscous and steamed broccoli. This is certainly not your normal theme park fare. It is also one of our recommended Top Choices for using a Quick Service Dining Credit when using the Disney Dining Plan.
Also you will find a selection of salads, sandwiches (Try the Lighthouse Sandwich with Hummus or the Anchors Away with White Tuna), soups, and what Seafood Fast Food Restaurant doesn't offer a Fried Fish platter.
Liberty Square Or Fantasyland?
One of the most interesting aspects of the Columbia Harbour house is the unique architecture for the building. The reason it is unique is the fact that it actually sits in two different Magic Kingdom Lands. The above picture shows how the building looks from Liberty Square. As you turn to the left to head towards Fantasyland you see the view of Fantasyland is blocked by the creative use of having the building cross over the walkway, thus limiting the view.
After passing through the "tunnel" and exiting on the Fantasyland side you can look back and see the other side of the Columbia Harbour House. All of a sudden instead of seeing American - New England Coastal town, you have transported to a European village.
Upon further inspection the restaurant has a completely different look from the Fantasyland side, but seamlessly makes the transition. This happens so smoothly that many people never even notice. Make sure you take an extra minute or two during your next trip to check out the great details of both personalities of the Columbia Harbour House.
Disney World Quick Service Must Do!
Columbia Harbour House is definitely a must do Disney Quick Service Restaurant for lunch or dinner. Whether you are using the Disney Dining Plan or not this is still a good place to get a good meal and escape the crowds. Put this on your list for your next Disney World Vacation!Disney World Dining: Sleepy Hollow Makes Waffle Sandwiches That You Have To Try!
When guests visit the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort they don't have to settle for typical theme park food. Today Only WDWorld takes you to Liberty Square to the small eatery called Sleepy Hollow, where they serve up some great waffle sandwiches!
This walk-up Disney World Quick Service location used to be known for its tasty funnel cakes, which are still available, but they really started generating excitement when they added waffles to their menu.
They serve both breakfast and lunch waffles sandwiches that are freshly made to order. It sometimes takes a little longer, but you can watch them make the waffles and build your sandwiches.
The above pictured sandwich is the ham, prosciutto, and Swiss waffle sandwich. It is topped with arugula and tomato. This is a great tasting sandwich and the waffle really complements it well.
The next one we tried was the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich. This one features a breaded chicken breast and really did live up to its sweet and spicy name.
We enjoyed the lunch waffle sandwiches so much that we had to come back on another day to try the breakfast offerings. Pictured above is the ham and cheese omelet waffle that features prosciutto and tomato. This is certainly another winner.
For those that tire of the savory waffle options, there is one that caters to those who prefer sweets. This waffle is covered with strawberry compote, whipped cream and powdered sugar. This sweet treat is available all day, so you can indulge whenever you feel the urge.
Sleepy Hollow Dining Review Summary
The waffle sandwiches that are now part of the menu transform Sleepy Hollow from a place that would normally be passed by, to one that has our attention. We enjoyed all of the waffle based offerings and would recommend them to anyone looking for something different to try for breakfast or lunch during your visit to the Magic Kingdom.Disney World Dining: Be Our Guest Restaurant
With the expansion to Fantasyland, the Magic Kingdom has created a restaurant that should be on everyone's list to visit during their next Walt Disney World Resort Vacation. The aptly named Be Our Guest Restaurant is themed after the classic Disney movie Beauty & The Beast and is situated in Beast's Castle.
Disney World Dining At Its Best!
Besides the stunning decor and theming that takes this restaurant beyond the ordinary, it is also noteworthy for being a Disney World Quick Service Restaurant by day and a Table Service Restaurant at night. This is what you look for during your Disney vacation, a unique dining experience that you will remember long after the vacation is over.
The details are amazing! Do not be put off by having to stand in long lines waiting to eat lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant. Treat it like any other Disney World Attraction (which it definitely is!) and you will be reward by a fairly quick moving line.
Reservations for Dinner can be hard to come by and expect to have to reserve near the 180 day reservation window to get in. For most we would just recommend visiting at lunch for a truly wonderful dining experience.
Once inside it is hard to take in all of the amazing decor and details. From carved gargoyles to the suits of armor, you know that you are in for a treat when you finally get to the dining rooms.
The lunchtime ordering process is much different that other Quick Service Restaurants. You are either guided to a computer kiosk or a register staffed by a Disney Cast Member. Prior to ordering your party either registers one of their MagicBands or you are given a special "rose". Since the food preparation takes place in another part of the building, after you order to go to find a table and the servers use the RFID technology to find you and bring your food to you.
The menu features sandwiches and salads with a French influence on the cuisine. The regular and kid's menus (shown above) feature adult entrees priced between $8.99 - $13.49.
There are 3 different dining rooms to choose from and they all are themed differently and have unique decor to enjoy. Choosing where to sit is a harder decision than choosing what to eat.
When your food is ready it is brought to you in special carts by the staff.
We tried 3 of the entrees during a recent visit: The Tuna Nicoise Salad - warm seared tuna steak with chilled green beans, potatoes, olives, roasted bell peppers, tomatoes, and hard poached egg, Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich - served warm on a baguette with horseradish sour cream and Pommes Frites, & Croque Monsieur - Grilled sandwich of carved ham, Gruyere cheese, and bechamel with Pommes Frites.
Be Our Guest Restaurant Is A Must Visit!
We would highly recommend this outstanding Disney World Quick Service Restaurant. We have yet to try the Table Service version, but will be posting a review after we have had that opportunity. The spectacular theming combined with very good food and excellent service make this one of if not the best Disney World Quick Service Restaurant and a Must Visit for any Disney World fan.

Disney World Character Dining: Magic Kingdom's Crystal Palace
When you are planning your Disney World Vacation, you should definitely consider eating at one or more of the Disney World Character Dining experiences. When you add Disney Characters to one of the Walt Disney World Resort themed Restaurants, you create a memorable experience that will endure long after your vacation is over.
Crystal Palace At The Magic Kingdom
One of the most popular Disney Character Dining venues is the Crystal Palace, which is located within the Magic Kingdom Theme Park. Not only will you be treated to a marvelous buffet meal, but you will also encounter Winnie The Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood.
The Crystal Palace is a beautiful Victorian Styled building with a multitude of windows that makes it very bright and airy during the day and an almost magical feeling at night. The Victorian choice of architecture fits in well with the English roots of its star inhabitant Winnie The Pooh.
The Crystal Palace sits at the juncture of Main Street U.S.A. and the entrance to Adventureland. The Disney Imagineers took this into consideration during the design of this restaurants using elements of the San Fransisco Conservatory Of Flowers, Kew Gardens of England, and the Crystal Palace in New York. These elements were all combined to create a gateway to the Colonial Inspired Visions of Asia and Africa that form the basis of the design of Adventureland.
Disney Character Dining - The Characters
The Disney Characters, in this case Winnie The Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore, play an important role in the Dining Experience for children and adults (children at heart) alike.
During the meal each of the characters makes their way around the restaurant stopping at each table to interact with the guests, signing autograph books, and posing for pictures.
Each character has his/her own personality and it comes out during their interactions with the guests.
You can't help but smile when the life-sized lovable Winnie The Pooh comes to your table.
Piglet is so cute that you want to hug him, and here you can!
Even the adults can't wait to pose for pictures with Tigger. Make sure that you bring your camera, because there will be plenty of photo opportunities during the meal.
Disney Vacation Tip: Don't be afraid to ask a Disney Cast Member to take a family group shot on your own camera. Even Disney PhotoPass Photographers will take a picture on your camera if you ask.
Disney Character Dining: The Meal
The Crystal Palace serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with characters appearing at all three. The buffet style meal works well for families as the large variety offering allow even the pickiest of eaters to find something that they like. It also makes it easier to time your trips to the buffet with the appearances of the characters at your table.
The Crystal Palace Buffet for breakfast includes traditional items such as: omelets, cereals, freshly baked pastries, fresh fruit, breakfast pizza and cheddar cheese potatoes.
The Lunch and Dinner Buffets include a variety of salads, vegetables, and American favorite entrees like: carved flank steak for lunch and sirloin for dinner, rotisserie chicken and Atlantic salmon. Many of the along dishes have a delicious hint of curry, cinnamon, mango and papaya to give the menu a touch of uniqueness.
The Crystal Palace also features a show kitchen where you can watch the dishes being prepared and have the chefs served the freshly carved meats.
The dessert stations are also a treat including bread pudding, a variety of tarts, pies, cakes, and pastries.
For children there is even a special buffet station with their favorites like: fried chicken nuggets, macaroni & cheese, pizza, and peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. Adults may also get food from this area and children may choose any of the other dishes. These are just provided so that the more selective eaters have something that they may enjoy.
Summary Review of The Crystal Palace
The Crystal Palace is a great place to enjoy a Character Dining Experience at Disney World. Advance Reservations are highly recommended and are a must during most of the year. The buffet is wonderful and the quality of the food is much better than any typical buffet you will find. the food is fresh, hot, and very tasty.
The interaction with Winnie the Pooh and his friends was delightful and was something that everyone enjoyed, even the grumpy adults. Who can resist the playful charm of Pooh or Tigger? If you only have one Character Dining Experience to try, you will not be disappointed with trying the Crystal Palace. Even with the large number of families and the Disney Characters the environment was much quieter than expected and the surrounding are beautiful.
