Stormalong Bay - The Best Resort Pool At Disney World

If you want to visit the best resort pool at Disney World, then the place you are seeking is Stormalong Bay.

Stormalong Bay, the resort pool shared by Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts is unofficially considered to be Disney World's 3rd Water Park (in addition to Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach.). This is certainly no ordinary pool.

Stormalong Bay - More Than A Pool
The theming of the Stormalong Bay pool complex is based upon the legend of the gigantic sailor named Stormalong who ran his ship ashore where Stormalong Bay now stands. His ship plowed into the shoreline creating the pools and waterways that exist today. The ship still exists today with its mast projecting 150 feet into the sky.

The ship now is home to the complex’s twisty and thrilling water slide. There are three acres of pools in all, including a snorkeling lagoon, an area with a whirlpool current, and a relaxing lagoon.
There is something for everyone at Stormalong Bay.  The collection of intertwined pools allows for group play and even quiet time under a waterfall.

Although the kids loved the water slide, I thought the current pool was a unique feature that was fun to explore.
Another nice feature of Stormalong Bay is the view.  From the beach by the pool you can look across the 25-acre Crescent Lake and see Disney's Boardwalk.

The excellent cast members who work there host a variety of recreational activities each day.  The picture below shows a rousing game of giant beach ball volleyball that took place in the pool with a 3 foot diameter beach ball replacing the traditional volleyball.

Disney World Attraction
Stormalong Bay is certainly an attraction all to itself and a great reason to book a stay at either the Yacht Club or Beach Club Resort.  There is no other pool complex at the Walt Disney World Resort that even comes close.
