Review of Oga's Cantina at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge in Disney World
One of the most iconic scenes in the original Star Wars: A New Hope movie was in the Mos Eisley Cantina where Luke Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi met Han Solo, so it is no surprise that in the Disney World land dedicated to Star Wars called Galaxy's Edge there would need to be an iconic Cantina.
Only WDWorld set out to visit this new Cantina and explore the interesting sights and libations that could be found inside. Join us for our review of Oga's Cantina located on Batuu.
Oga's Cantina - A Hard Place to Find
At Galaxy's Edge there are not a lot of signs that tourists can easily decipher to learn the whereabouts of the various shops, eateries, & establishments. Unless you are fluent in Aurebesh you have to seek out your destinations. Oga's Cantina is no different. Like most popular Cantinas you follow the crowds to learn the location of this interesting place. As you can see from the pictures above, unless you capture the moment that the word CANTINA is illuminated above the doorway it is not obvious that you have found the entrance to Oga's Cantina.
Oga's Cantina - The Out of this World Cantina You Were Searching For
it does not take long after you have entered Oga's Cantina to be swept into the reality that you have been transported into a galaxy far, far away. This Cantina is incredibly well themed and can be enjoyed by patrons of all ages, not just the over 21 crowd. The scenery is amazing, and you can easily spend much of your time here taking in all of the details that surround you, but don't. This place was meant to be enjoyed, so make sure that you engage your neighbors and bartenders, listen to the somewhat familiar music played by DJ Rex, and above all have fun.
Oga's Cantina - The Menu: Something for Everyone
Although pricey there is truly something for everyone to enjoy on this menu, whether you enjoy out of this world cocktails, beers, wines, or specialty mocktails that allow the non-drinkers or under 21 crowd to not feel left out. You can even try the famous blue milk here if you wish.It wouldn't be a review if we dd not try some of the signature cocktails on the menu. We tried over multiple visits: The Bespin Fizz, The Fuzzy Tauntaun, & The Jedi Mind Trick. We also grabbed photos of our neighbors YubNub and the Cliff Dweller.
Here are our thoughts on the drinks:
- Jedi Mind Trick - Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit & Rose Vodka, John P Taylor's Velvet Falernum, Bols Blue Curacao, White Grape Juice, Lime Juice, Grapefruit Bitters
This is a tasty Blue colored drink, but without the theatrics of the others. - Fuzzy Tauntaun - Ciroc Peach Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, Simply Orange with Tangerine, Pure Cane Sugar, "Buzz Button Tingling Foam"
This drink looks impressive and the foam has a special kicker that will make an impression! - Bespin Fizz - Bacardi Superior Rum, Yuzu Puree, Pomegranate Juice, White Cranberry Juice, Cloud Swirl
This is the winner! Tastes great and puts on a show that photographs and videos well.
- Yub Nub & Cliff Dweller These drinks, one with alcohol and one without, are all about the take home souvenir cup. Not cheap, but a lasting way t show your dedication to the Ewoks!
DJ Rex - The Disney World Blast From The Past
Your music at Oga's Cantina is bought to you by a familiar droid. DJ Rex is none other than the former Star Tours Pilot Rex that many enjoyed on countless missions. Here he plays a wide variety of music including some popular hits by Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes of Mos Eisley Cantina Fame.Oga's Cantina Is A Disney World Must Do!
Oga's Cantina is not cheap! But if you can get past the prices this is definitely a fun place to try. You can substantially reduce the cost, but still have fun with the amazing non-alcoholic concoctions. As a tip try the Carbon Freeze for a similar effect to our favorite alcoholic drink the Bespin Fizz.Over all it is a great experience. If you plan to visit during busy times of the day you should book a reservation on the Disney Dining reservation system like you would for a Disney World Restaurant.
There is not much in the way of food or snacks so do not plan on this being your lunch or dinner, but it is definitely a fun, and highly recommended place to visit while at Galaxy's Edge.
Abracadabar: A Review of Disney World's Newest Lounge
Magic and mystery are the themes evoked at the newest addition to Disney's Boardwalk at the Walt Disney World Resort. Abracadabar moves into the space between the Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno with a backstory shows why it has a longstanding history of belonging at Disney's Boardwalk.
Abracadabar
At Disney World there is no such thing as just a bar! Disney World is about storytelling and the Abracadabar comes to Disney's Boardwalk with a great one. Before we review the drinks, libations, and decor, let's delve into the backstory of this mystical place. As posted on this newspaper article framed on the wall dated November 13, 1940, the great magicians of the Boardwalk have disappeared. There are very few clues to there whereabouts beyond the discovery of a secret room with some interesting cocktails and other magician's props lying about.
There is no answer to why the magicians have disappeared, but you obviously have been transported into a place that they frequented with many of their magical props left behind.
Abracadabar: The Decor
You definitely get the feel that you have been transported back in time when you enter through the doors to Abracadabar. There is an amazing array of artifacts to investigate and explore while you are there. They tell the backstory and further develop the theme for this former hangout for the most talented illusionists on the Boardwalk.Abracadabar The Menu
Don't expect a Disney World bar to be boring. Even the menu can provide interesting insight to the theming and backstory of the location.Abracadabar is no exception. To convey the thematic elements that this is a place conjured up for the benefit of the most talented magicians in the land there are a series of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic that deliver magical elements for patrons to enjoy. (Note: There are no food offerings on the menu here!)

Enchanting Elixirs & Curious Concoctions
Just like the billboard states there are many interesting libations to choose from. The above is a demonstration of the presentation for the Conjurita. This magical drink starts out being a very dark colored drink, then due to the impressive magical kills of Annie this drink turns into a light purple hue.We also sampled the Pepper's Ghost and have to say that this interesting libation packs a peppery flavored wallop that made this a drink to remember.
The Review Summary for: Abracababar
The newest stop at Disney's Boardwalk is one that adults will certainly want to visit.
