Images Of 2010 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

On May 16th the 2010 version of the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival will be coming to an end after over 2 months, millions of blooms, and over 100 topiaries decorated the Orlando, Florida park.

Only WDWorld thought it was only appropriate to take a look at some of the images from this year's Festival.  These pictures will either bring back fond memories or encourage you to make sure that you visit Epcot during the Flower & Garden Festival next year.

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, & Donald Topiaries
In a "Salute To Community Gardens" found in the America Pavilion of Epcot's World Showcase you will find topiary scenes of Goofy and Donald Duck, as well as, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse
Flower Art
By using the large spaces afforded to them at Epcot, the Disney Horticultural Staff were able to create living murals with thousands of flowers.  The results were spectacular.

American Gothic - Disney Style
In a re-interpretation of the famous Grant Wood 1930 painting "American Gothic," here you find topiaries of Mickey and Minnie assuming those famous poses.

Snow White
Not only can you find the real Snow White in the German Pavilion for meet and greet, as well as, photo opportunities, there was also this wonderful topiary display of Snow White along with all 7 of the Dwarfs.

Pixie Hollow Visits Epcot
This year saw changes to the Butterfly garden, putting it in the middle of Pixie Hollow.  Tinkerbell and her Fairy friends were well represented in topiary form amidst the butterflies and beatiful flower garden displays.

The Lion King
Disney classic animated films like The Lion King were also represented in topiary form.  The matching of the character topiaries with the surrounding gardens were amazing.  Here you see Rafiki lifting young Simba with proud Mufasa looking on.

Garden Gnome Mickey
I couldn't resist taking this picture of Garden Gnome Mickey, one of the many items that could be purchased during the Flower & Garden Festival.  I am not sure who came up with the idea to make Mickey Mouse into a Garden Gnome, but I like it.

Chinese Dragon
One of the most impressive of all of the topiaries would have to be the Bromeliad Dragon found in the China Pavilion in World Showcase.  This Dragon was quite striking and certainly got your attention.

German Train Village
The Train Display in the German Pavilion is always a favorite to check out during all of Epcot's Special Events.  They go all out in decorating for the Flower & Garden Festival with banners, flowers boxes, and tiny topiaries of their own.  For more details on the decorations at the German Train Village Display check out: Celebrating The 2010 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival On A Small Scale.

Aladdin Stands Tall In Morocco
The Aladdin topiary stood out in this creative garden found in the Morocco Pavilion.  It was another example of all of the interesting plants that were used to create the marvelous displays and gardens.

Peter Pan and Captain Hook
You can't miss the great scene of Peter Pan battling Captain Hook in the Great Britain Pavilion.  Capturing classic movie scenes and recreating them in topiary form has become a Disney Horticultural Staff trademark.

Until 2011
These are but a few of the sights and images that you can see at Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival.  This continues to be a highlight of Disney World each Spring.  It is not too soon to start planning your Disney World Vacation for Spring 2011 so you don't miss out on the Festival next year!
