When the hot summer months come to Disney World, the heat can really be oppressive. Finding an attraction that is thrilling and will cool you off is the perfect combination.
One ride that is guaranteed to get you wet and cool you off is the Kali River Rapids located in the Asia section of Disney World's Animal Kingdom.
The setting for ride is an adventure along the Chakranadi River. Chakranadi supposedly means "river that flows in a circle" in Sanskrit.
The wonderful theming that is characteristic of the Animal Kingdom is well represented here. The Disney Imagineers gathered over 5,000 pieces of props and artifacts just to be placed along the ride queue setting the stage for the story.
The ride follows Animal Kingdom's overall theme of the delicate balance between man and nature and what can happen if we do not heed nature's warnings.
On the Kali River Rapids ride we see the effects of a logging firm that has carelessly plundered the forest. You can see nature trying to get even as you progress through to the thrilling drop.

At the end of the ride, you are left to draw the conclusion of what will happen next in this man vs. nature story. The Disney Imagineers chose not to show the conflict being brought to resolution, but rather let the guest gain a greater awareness and make their own decision about what needs to happen, here and in the real world.
