Disney World Must See Show - Finding Nemo - The Musical
Disney World is known for its spectacular shows. Usually
when you hear of Disney World shows you think Fantasmic, Festival Of The Lion
King, and Lights, Motors, Action! My favorite Disney World Show though leaves
them all in the dust. I’m talking about Finding Nemo-The Musical at Disney’s Animal
Kingdom!
This post is brought to you by www.OnlyWDWorld.com guest blogger Madison Collins! Learn more about Madison at the end of this post.
Finding Nemo-The Musical combines Broadway worthy songs with
out of this world puppetry. The entire Finding Nemo cast is extremely talented.
They truly bring Finding Nemo to the next level.
What makes Finding Nemo even better is that all of the songs
in the musical aren’t in Finding Nemo the brilliant Pixar movie, making it the only place you
can hear these, so catchy you can’t get them out of your head, songs. This is the first time that Disney has made a
musical show out of a non-musical movie.
The actors in Finding Nemo actually go into the audience at
points during the musical, which makes it that much more entertaining. I really like it when Marlin and Dory seem
like they are right next to you in the audience. The giant jellyfish are amazing as they run
through the audience!
Finding Nemo-The Musical is an inside attraction, so it’s a
wonderful attraction to hit when it’s too hot or pouring rain.
When not watching Finding Nemo - The Musical, you can often find our guest blogger Madison hanging out with her two favorite Disney characters, Chip n' Dale!
The Biggest Disney World Sign That You May Have Never Seen!
Hidden in plain sight in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park at the Walt Disney World Resort is a full size billboard that most Disney World guests have probably never seen.
This billboard is a simulated Diggs County promotional message to promote tourism in this Dinosaur fixated county. You can find this massive sign in Dinoland at Disney's Animal Kingdom located beyond Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures souvenir shop and across from the Primeval Whirl roller coaster.
It is a great example of the detailing created by the Disney Imagineers. It absolutely fits within the kitschy Dinoland that attempts to capture some of the feeling from the tourist attractions that sprung up along Route 66 during its heyday.
The really astute observers will notice that there is not just one full size billboard in this area, but actually three to be found!
The 2nd billboard is a sign denoting the parking lot for Chester & Hester's Dinorama. You may also notice that business must be good, because the price of parking has gone up!
The 3rd billboard really is hidden due to the growth of the foliage in the area. This is another Diggs Country tourist promotion with the catch phase "Where fossils are our way of life!"
So if you have never seen these larger than life signs, make sure that they are on your list to spot during your next Disney World Vacation! These are the details that make the experience so much more enjoyable.
Disney World Shopping: Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures
Shopping at the Walt Disney World Resort is often more than finding the perfect souvenir to remember your Disney World Vacation. The shopping destinations can be attractions unto themselves with incredibly detailed theming and lots of details that you can spend time enjoying. One such shopping "attraction" can be found in the Dinoland section of Disney's Animal Kingdom. It is called Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures.
Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures
In keeping with the kitschy feel of Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama, the souvenir shop is the ultimate combination of 50's roadside attraction, dinosaur nostalgia, and pure Disney Imagineering fun. There is nothing high tech to the sights in this shop, but there certainly is plenty to see. There are dinosaurs and dinosaur references literally EVERYWHERE! From plastic dinosaurs, to comic books and movie posters, you don't have to look far to uncover another dinosaur.
The Mickey Mouse Marionette was a really cool item spotted in the store.
The toughest part of shopping at Chester & Hester's Dino Treasures is knowing where to start. The dinosaur references are everywhere!
How can you not love the Godzilla reference shown in the diorama above?
Disney World Magic
Do not pass up the opportunity to check out this amazing Disney World store. Whether you end up buying anything thing here or not doesn't really matter. You miss out on a wonderful part of Disney Imagineering magic if you do not take the time to see all that there is to see.
Make sure that you treat this store like the other Disney World Attractions on your "Must Do List." You will be glad that you did.

Wild Africa Trek Begins At Disney's Animal Kingdom
Disney World has added a tour like no other to it's lineup of guest experiences. The newest opportunity for guests is called the Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
This 3 hour tour goes beyond any previous safari style offering in the past. Here you will have the opportunity to view the animals from places never available to guests before. The experience sounds amazing. Group sizes are limited to just 12, and the initial price is $129 per person + admission to Disney's Animal Kingdom, so this is not something everyone will choose to do.
If you are looking for a premium Disney World Vacation experience that will provide memories for a lifetime, this may be the answer for the adventurer in your group.
Here is the official Disney Press Release:
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Navigating a rickety footbridge suspended over a river chasm can be a white-knuckle experience. For explorers on an all-new Disney adventure, what lurks below their bridge may quicken their step to get to the other side: crocodiles!
A ravine of menacing-looking crocs, pools of hippos, bushwalks along untracked terrain and other thrills await guests on Wild Africa Trek, a unique wildlife experience into the deepest, most-remote reaches of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Reservations can be booked now for the three-hour, expert-led adventure that immerses guests in the realms and wildlife thrills of far-off Africa – without leaving Walt Disney World Resort. In small groups, guests on Wild Africa Trek enjoy an “up-close-and-personal” experience with African wildlife species that make their home in Pangani Forest as well as other areas of the park’s Harambe Wildlife Reserve.
As part of the adventure, guests clip onto a lifeline as they step to the very edge of a cliff to get amazingly close to the hippos and crocs waiting just below. Talk about cliff-hangers!
“Adventure-minded guests will have the experience of a lifetime as they get immersed in an authentic African safari experience that only Disney can deliver,” said Michael Colglazier, vice president of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. “We are thrilled to be offering this unique outdoor adventure aimed at active vacationers, taking interactions with the incredible animals that inhabit the Harambe Reserve to the next level and literally blazing new trails in our park.”
Highlights of what’s in store for guests on this add-on adventure:
- Trekking with experienced guides through areas of Harambe Wildlife Reserve that aren’t explored during regular Disney’s Animal Kingdom experiences.
- Navigating winding pathways through dense fern, bamboo and vine forests on a bushwalk that sets a course for adventure.
- Clipping into a harness attached to a safety line, crossing a seemingly precarious rope bridge over the Safi River and cliff-hanging at the edge of gullies that are home to hippos and crocodiles.
- After pausing at an overlook above the grasslands for breathtaking views, boarding customized open-air vehicles that course through the vastness of a magnificent savanna. Extended time is allotted for animal viewing with expert guides.
- Unwinding from an unforgettable adventure at a private safari camp for viewing of wildebeest and giraffe, elephants and gazelles, eland and antelope. At this station elevated above the savanna, guests savor this panorama of wildlife and sample tastes of Africa as their adventure draws to a relaxing and satisfying close.
Wild Africa Trek is offered several times daily at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Groups are kept small, consisting of no more than 12 trekkers per safari.
Reservations for Wild Africa Trek (ages 8 and up) can be arranged by calling 407/WDW-TOUR (939-8687). Pricing for this unique adventure will vary seasonally.
