Disney World Resort Check-In Is Now Envy Of ALL Travelers
The Walt Disney World Resort is revolutionizing travel by making Resort Check-In a totally painless process! The changes that Disney World has made through the use of their innovative technology is now the envy of the travel industry.
Changing The Resort Check-In Process!
One of the least desired parts of the Resort Stay is the Hotel Check-In Process. Having to wait in line to confirm your party, provide your method of payment, and get your room keys is the non-value-added part of travel that all travelers dislike.Disney World has been progressively improving the experience over the last several years by moving more of the process on-line where it can be done at the guest's leisure before they arrive and not consume part of their precious vacation. The last hurdle was picking up the room key.
With the advent of the MagicBand and the integrated MyDisneyExperience process, Disney now had a way to get the room key to their guests well prior to their arrival. The RFID based Magic Bands are a wearable device that are uniquely linked to the wearer and contain not only the ability to be the room key, but also their park tickets, FastPass reservations, Dining Reservations, Disney's Magical Express Reservations, and even a payment system through the use of Resort Room Charge to a previously stored credit card.
Starting around the end of March of 2015 Disney World started testing the process with select guests, but is now making it available to a wider audience.
Your Room Is Ready!
Disney World Guests can choose to be notified by email, text, or both! On the day of your arrival, you receive the message that your room is ready! If you are familiar with the Resort you can go directly to your room and use your MagicBand as your key for entry. No need to go to the front desk, unless you would like to!This makes traveling much less painful, and Disney is leading the way in innovative customer service to take one of the least desired parts of the Resort Hotel stay and eliminate it from the process. Hopefully more hotel chains will be watching and find ways to duplicate Disney's efforts for traditional business and personal travel.
New Polynesian Villas Studio At The Walt Disney World Resort
The newest resort accommodations at the Walt Disney World Resort are actually part of one of the original Disney Resorts created in 1971. The Polynesian Villas and Bungalows are part of the Disney Vacation Club and have added some amazing new views and rooms to a classic Disney favorite.
Polynesian Villas & Bungalows - Lake View Deluxe Studio
After many, many months of construction that has been transforming Disney's Polynesian Resort the fruits of that labor are now ready to be experienced! Starting on April 1, 2015 the newest rooms are available to the public. There are 3 new classes of rooms: Lake View Deluxe Studios, Standard View Deluxe Studios, & 2 Bedroom On-The-Water Bungalows.Only WDWorld was there for opening day and spent the first available night in one of the Lake View Deluxe Studios.
The new Studios here are the largest one at the Walt Disney World measuring in at 447 sq ft. The rooms are designed to handle 5 adult sized people. There is a queen sized bed, a double sized sleep sofa and a twin sized fold down bed that is positioned beneath the television.
This new feature to allow a 5th adult to fit in the room is starting to show up across other Deluxe offerings across Disney World. For those of you that are used to the tiny fold down bed that can be found at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort, rest assured this new bed is much longer. It is just as long as a traditional twin and my 6' 5" teenage son spent the night in the bed shown above.
The other major new feature in the room is that there are two bathrooms in this studio! One houses a tub with shower and a toilet, while the other contains a shower with traditional shower head and the rainfall shower head that is amazing! This way two people can shower at once and speed up the time it takes getting ready in the morning (or evening)! Definitely a great feature.
The Polynesian style decorations and furniture in the room fit the style well and do a great job at making the "escape" to Hawaii complete. The DVC Resorts have done an excellent job over the past several years at paying significant attention to the detail and theming of the resorts and rooms.
The last great feature is the improved emphasis on storage in the room. The bed has been redesigned to allow for underbed storage and even has drawers. The surf-board inspired coffee table opens to reveal secret storage as well. This combined with the fold up bed under the flat screen tv has created a spacious room with ample storage of luggage and items.
The lake view studios provide a great view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the new waterfront bungalows. They also serve as an idea place to watch the Wishes Fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom or the nightly Electrical Light Parade as it makes its way across the lagoon.
Review Summary
The new Lake View Deluxe Studios at the Polynesian Villas and Bungalows are exactly what you want when you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. They are spacious, comfortable and allow families to easily get ready quickly during the morning prior to a long day a the Disney World Theme Parks. The worst part of these resorts is having to check out. These are truly places that your family will not want to leave. Many families will no doubt claim the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows as their new favorite place to stay during their Disney World Vacation and we can't argue with them. Disney has a winner with these newly designed rooms. We highly recommend them!

Disney World Hotels: Choosing The Right One For Your Vacation
The Walt Disney World Resort is truly a vacation destination that has a large variety of Hotels located on the Disney Property. The most difficult decision is often, not whether to stay in a Disney World Hotel, but rather "Which Disney World Resort Hotel should we stay at?"
Disney World Resort Hotels
The Walt Disney World Resort never settles for plain and ordinary. No matter which of their 27 Resorts you choose to stay at, you are getting much more than your typical Hotel Room. Each hotel is uniquely themed and landscaped to make your stay memorable and special.
In order to meet a variety of budget needs, Disney has created 4 different tiers of hotels including: Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and Deluxe Villa (the Disney Vacation Club Resorts).
Choosing the one that's right for your family depends upon factors such as: # of people, desired room size, desired room amenities, how much time you will be spending at the Resort Hotel, & budget. As your needs change for each vacation you may very well find yourself staying in different resorts and tiers. Because they are so varied in their architecture, theming, and landscaping, they help create totally different Disney World experiences to enjoy.
Disney's Value Resorts
The most budget minded class of is a series of resorts grouped under the Value moniker. Here you will find:
Each also offers wonderful dining choices and several house Disney's Signature Restaurants for the ultimate dining experiences. You truly do not need to even enter the theme parks in order to have a magical vacation when you are staying at one of these resorts.
The rooms have apartment or condo "home-like" feels to them. They make great places for families to stay when they are staying for close to a full week. There is more room to spread out and the One Bedroom and larger Villas come with full kitchens and washer/dryers as part of the rooms.

Disney's Value Resorts
The most budget minded class of is a series of resorts grouped under the Value moniker. Here you will find:
- Disney's All-Star Sports Resort
- Disney's All-Star Movies Resort
- Disney's All-Star Music Resort
- Disney's Pop Century Resort
- Disney's Art Of Animation Resort
In the Value Resorts the rooms are most like a "typical" hotel room with the added Disney Styling touches. The theming for each resort is carried through to the room and can be seen in the bedspreads, carpeting, artwork and often the furniture as well.
Where Disney differentiates themselves is the the landscaping, styling of the grounds, themed swimming pools, and the massive food court that is available. Also no matter which level of Disney Resort you choose you have full access to all of the same Disney amenities for Disney Resort Guests:
- Free Parking at Hotel and Theme Parks
- Free Transportation throughout Disney World
- Free Transportation to and from Orlando International Airport (MCO) through Disney's Magical Express Service
- Special "Extra Magic Hours" which allow Disney Resort Guests special extra hours either before regular opening or after regular closing in the Disney Theme Parks.
Disney's Moderate Resorts
The moderate resorts provide extra room and amenities in the rooms as well as the resorts themselves start to have the feel of "Resorts" with lavish landscaping, feature pools with slides, and Table Service Restaurants in addition to food courts. Here you will find:
- Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
- Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter
- Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside
- Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
- The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort
The Moderate Resorts are a nice transition from the Value for Families that are looking to spend a little more time during their vacation relaxing at their Resort. The main themed pool areas all include water slides and more interactive play areas for the children. The grounds of the Resorts are more spread out and invoke a relaxing feel to them. They also make you feel that it is less crowded even when they are full to capacity.
Each also has a Table Service Restaurant and a Lounge area for more formal dining than the Food Court without leaving the resort grounds. They also have a variety of water based activities such as boat rental and fishing opportunities.
Disney's Deluxe Resorts
The Deluxe Resorts at Disney World take styling to the next level by creating some of the most memorable Resorts in the country. Each is unique with its styling features ranging from Disney's Wilderness Lodge that transports you to America's Northwest in a resort based upon the great National Park Lodges to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge that recreates the feeling of spending your vacation in Africa complete with its own private Savannah with animals that can be viewed from your room's balcony. Then there is also flagship resort The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa that has all of the top of the line amenities that you may be looking for. Here is the complete listing:
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Disney's Beach Club Resort
- Disney's BoardWalk Inn
- Disney's Contemporary Resort
- Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney's Polynesian Resort
- Disney's Wilderness Lodge
- Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Each also offers wonderful dining choices and several house Disney's Signature Restaurants for the ultimate dining experiences. You truly do not need to even enter the theme parks in order to have a magical vacation when you are staying at one of these resorts.
Disney's Deluxe Villas
The last of the Resort groups is called Disney's Deluxe Villas. These are all actually considered to be Disney Vacation Club Resorts, but Disney owns a percentage of the rooms in each and offers them as options for Disney Park Guests that are not Disney Vacation Club Members. These have many of the amenities of Disney's Deluxe Resorts, but the rooms are set up much differently. They come in Studio, One-Bedroom, Two-Bedroom, and Grand Villa- Three Bedroom styles.
Here are your Disney's Deluxe Villa choices:
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village
- Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
- Disney's Beach Club Villas
- Disney's BoardWalk Villas
- Disney's Old Key West Resort
- Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
- The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
The rooms have apartment or condo "home-like" feels to them. They make great places for families to stay when they are staying for close to a full week. There is more room to spread out and the One Bedroom and larger Villas come with full kitchens and washer/dryers as part of the rooms.
Each resort also has outdoor activities like basketball and tennis as well as themed pools with slides to enjoy.
Make Your Disney Resort Choice
The great thing about choosing a Disney World Resort is that there are no "bad" ones. Finding the one that is right for you depends upon your family and what you are looking to do during your vacation.
