South Africa: Seared Filet Of Beef With Smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braii Sauce
This dish has been one of our favorites at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival for the past several years so we looked forward to enjoying it again this year. The dish, priced at $5.00 per serving and pictured above, did not photograph well due to the excessive amount of sauce. This same South African Barbeque Sauce, aka Braii Sauce, unfortunately overwhelmed the Filet of Beef instead of accentuating it.
It was still enjoyable, but the extra sauce kept this from being a favorite at this year's festival. Hopefully this was not repeated for all the visitors to the South Africa Marketplace kiosk.

The Seared Filet Of Beef With Smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braii Sauce has been such an overwhelming favorite during past Epcot International Food & Wine Festival that our okay dish with excessive sauce could not deter us from continuing to recommending it. The Beef and Sweet potatoes make an excellent combination.
